Ellen Wasylina.  A thought leader in security, author, speaker, commentator, educator and entrepreneur, she has spent the better part of her adult life in Europe, dedicated to promoting the transatlantic relationship, as well as having become a specialist of Central and Eastern Europe, where her roots are.

Possessing two Masters degrees, both done in Paris, France in French in Conflict Resolution and another in Strategy and Defense, her Bachelor’s work in California was in International Relations (minors in French, German, Italian and Tourism).

President and Founder of a Paris-based think tank, the International Geostrategic Maritime Observatory (IGMO),, since 2011, Editor in Chief of the annual flagship publication, 2013, IGMO studies, researches and advises on security issues in the maritime space.

She is the author of two books in French at Harmattan Publishing house : “Ukraine : prémices de guerre froide en Europe?“; and “La defense europécnne face aux menaces : l’Europe est-elle prête pour son 11 septembre?”

As a commentator, she has been giving her analysis in both English and French in the French and international media since 2008 on such outlets as  Africa24, Arte, France 24, France 3, France Culture Radio, BFM TV, ITélé, LCI, RFI and RTS radio, TV5 Monde) on foreign, economic and security policy; most recently was invited on May 22 to France 24 (French) in Washington, D.C. about President Trump’s first trip abroad.
